What
level should I sign my child up for?
Level 1, Introduction
to Water Skills.
Level 2-Fundamental
Aquatic Skills.
-
This level is for
those who have successfully completely level 1, or can independently
complete the following skills at the end: submerge head for 5
seconds, open eyes under water to retrieve and object, front and
back float, front and back glide, and tread water with arms and
legs.
Level 3- Stroke
Development
-
This level is for
those who have successfully completely level 2, or can independently
complete the following skills at the end: sitting/kneeling dive,
rotary breathing, front ad back glide 2 body lengths, front crawl 15
yards, back crawl 15 yards, and butterfly kick 5 yards.
Level 4-Stroke
Improvement
-
This level is for
those who have successfully completely level 3, or can independently
complete the following skills at the end: compact and stride dive
from side, swim underwater 3 body lengths, tread water for 1
minutes, front crawl 25 yards (entire length of the pool), back
crawl 25 yards, butterfly 15 yards, breaststroke 15 yards.
Level 5- Stroke
Refinement
-
This level is for
those who have successfully completely level 4, or can independently
complete the following skills at the end: demonstrate a shallow
dive from the side of the pool, survival float for 2 minutes, front
flip turn, tread water 2 minutes, front crawl 50 yards, back crawl50
yards, butterfly 25 yards, breaststroke 25 yards, sidestroke 25
yards.
Level 6
-
Students are able
to choose between Personal Water Safety, Fitness Swimming, Lifeguard
Readiness and Fundamentals of Diving
-
Due to possible
limitations, please list your first and second choice on your
registration form.
