 First Aid Station worker          

            Skills Needed: CPR/First Aid

• 2-3 hour shifts, 8 stations/year                                        

• Help treat minor injuries at public events

• Educate the public about Red Cross programs and Health & Safety issues

First Aid/CPR instructor          

            Skills Needed: CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor training

• Work as needed/ times can be arranged                                      

• Teach CPR/First Aid                                                  

Crosslink newsletter 

                Skills Needed: Collation                

• 2-3 times/year 2-4 hours         

• Help with distribution of the newsletter

• Folding, inserting, organizing, putting labels on, sorting

Disaster Action Team Members    

          Skills Needed: Must have email

            Basic Red Cross courses are required:

                        •Intro to Disasters

                        •Mass Care

                        •Shelter Operations

                        •Family Services

                        •Damage Assessment  

                        •CPR/First Aid

• Be on-call to help local fire, flood and tornado victims

Record Keeping                     

             Skills Needed: Communication, computer, data processing skills

• Data entry

• Entering information into computers

Uniformed volunteers           

            Skills Needed: people & telephone skills

• Assist MMSC staff with calls and flower deliveries; call backs for patient appointments

Newspaper clipper        

• 2 hours/month                     

• Read obituary pages to update IRC address file         

• Can do at home

Filing & Typing                                 

                Skills needed: clerical

• Daily (times to be arranged)  

Community Disaster Education          

                Skills Needed: Public Speaking and Presentation skills

• 1-2 times monthly                                                    

• Give presentations about Red Cross services, volunteering, and information about different Disasters and how to stay safe during these emergencies

Together We Prepare                   

                 Skills Needed: Public speaking/presentation skills;   preferably First Aid/CPR

• Once every other month                                  

• Give presentations about the Red Cross program “Together We Prepare”

• 1 ½-2 hr presentations
