Local Red Cross Hires Intern

Elizabeth Roloff of State Center has recently joined the Iowa Rivers Chapter of the American Red Cross as the Marketing/Public Relations Intern for this summer.

Roloff, a 2002 graduate of West Marshall High School, is currently a senior at Iowa State University.  She will graduate with a degree in marketing this December.

As an intern, Roloff will be involved in a variety of areas, including updating and maintaining the website, putting out news releases, and developing brochures.   She will also be working directly with the community by responding to disasters and presenting information about the Red Cross services for military families.

“It is very exciting to be able to be apart of such a great organization,” stated Roloff, “Not many students get the opportunity to help others while gaining the professional experience they need.”

There are several opportunities for college students with the Red Cross.  Interning, teaching, and volunteering within a wide range of areas are just a few positions available.

To learn more about these and other opportunities, call Mary Dooley at (641) 753-3317 ext. 3 or visit our website at http://iowarivers.redcross.org.
