Babysitter's Training
(6 hours)
The Babysitter's Training course has a unique interactive, educational
format that tasks youth, ages 11 - 14 years of age, with activities
such as identifying safety problems around the house and yard and
selecting age-appropriate toys and games for children in their care.
Participants learn by doing. This format, along with the course video
and an enthusiastic instructor, keeps the interest of the babysitters
and provides a meaningful classroom experience
Basic Aid Training (B.A.T.) (6
hours)
This course, which may be led by any responsible adult, introduces
8-10 year-olds to the emergency action steps, Check, Call, Care as
well as to basic first aid procedures. An activity book with puzzles
and games teaches children how to prevent injuries and what to do in
an emergency.
First
Aid for Children Today (F.A.C.T.) (10 - 14 hours)
The FACT Critter Clan leads kids, aged 5 - 8, through health promotion
and injury prevention activities. Its environmental theme teaches
safety in a non-threatening way. Topics include:
- Hygiene and health habits;
- First aid;
- Personal safety; and
